How many miracles can fit into a dot on the map?<\/p>\n<p>We are at the Kapsia caves. Experts have placed it on the elite list of 10 most remarkable caves of the Greek territory. Located in the region of the enclosed geological basin of Mantinea\u2019s plateau it is associated with the complex system of natural sinks that characterise the aquifer. Since the day it was discovered, people from all over, and come to witness the works of the earth and the early human shelter. For here, in these caves of endless beauty, human bones and everyday utensils made of clay were found. The history of the land and the history of man are magically intertwined.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-2 fusion_builder_column_2_5 2_5 fusion-two-fifth\" style=\"width:37.6%; margin-right: 4%;margin-top:30px;margin-bottom:20px;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\" style=\"background-position:left top;background-repeat:no-repeat;-webkit-background-size:cover;-moz-background-size:cover;-o-background-size:cover;background-size:cover;padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><p>The cave was first explored by the French archaeologist Gustav Fouzer in 1887 as part of the excavations in Mantinea. In 1911 the official announcement was made for this speleological cave and it is a milestone which marks the international interest in the Greek hidden land. In 1974 a new section of the cave is discovered, bringing thrills to naturalists and activists. The cave proves to be a geological log book. On it, traces of a certified great flood were left.
